HiDALGO2 project brings together 8 interdisciplinary partners from 7 countries in order to achieve best results. HiDALGO2 had a great start with a very busy first quarter. Project partners participated in several activities from the project’s start.   ###Kick-off in Poznan, Poland The kick-off meeting of HiDALGO2, took place in Poznan, Poland on January 25th and 26th, hosted by PSNC, project’s coordinator. More than 30 people participated in the meeting, both in person and virtually during this two-day event. During these two days, we discussed our plan of actions for the next four years of the project, and paid close attention to the work that must be done in the first six months, until our next transnational meeting. CASTIEL2 project promotes the interaction and exchange of expertise and competence across the NCC network, encourages collaboration between HPC practitioners, and provides similar coordination support to the EuroHPC Centres of Excellence. "HiDALGO2 IN CASTIEL2") ###HiDALGO2 in SIAM CSE (CSE23) HiDALGO2 was there in the mini-symposium of the SIAM Conference on the 1st of March with a lecture on “HPC Applications for Tackling Global and Engineering Challenges Towards Exascale”. In the mini-symposium, the scientific computing framework of two HiDALGO2 CoE applications (urban air pollution and renewable energy sources) and two methodologies (scalable uncertainty quantification and agent-based modelling methods) were presented in detail. Our coordinator joined the panel of the "Open workshop: Centres of Excellence & Competence Centres" for a discussion on the EuroCC 2, CASTIEL 2 and CoE ecosystems and presented our project.
